my iphone has just have this happen about an hour ago. been googling to see what its about but no one seems to know. ill just have to wait and see if it disappears. as long as its not a problem with it

This has been baffling me for a couple of days!! I was talking about it on Twitter today and nobody else’s iPhone was doing it. But after my battery died and I charged it again, the mysterious logo has vanished – how bizarre! Obviously the iPhone has the capability for displaying network names and/or other information in that space. I didn’t like how it affected the layout & am pleased it’s gone

I had that for a few months back with T-Mobile. But the logo disappeared quickly after I found out.
