MailChimp issues with image slices from Photoshop file? [FIX]

Create HTML newsletter in PS without body text.

Slice this up using Photoshop’s slice tool.

Right click to promote any autocreated (grey) slices to user (blue) slices.

File->Save for web and devices.

Select gif or jpg depending if graphics or photo based (respectively).

Saves images and html file.

Open html file in Dreamweaver, even though it LOOKS ok, if you upload this as is to MailChimp and send it, Gmail, hotmail and many others with break up the table layout. Try it and see! It’s very easy to tweak the HTML code to fix this, click read more to find out how.

Macbook Air screen now folds flat. Broken hinge?

UPDATE 29th August 2009 – Apple have finally acknowledged there is an issue with the MacBook Air hinges and is offering to repair/replace any faulty hinges even if the warranty has expired. Click here to read the full article on Apple’s website.

I bought my MacBook Air in Feb 2008 and for the last 11 months I’ve always been frustrated with the restrictive screen angle. It didn’t seem to go much past vertical (roughly 120°) so there were certain situations when I had it on my lap where I could not get the screen back far enough to view comfortably.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) my MacBook Air hinge broke/snapped the other day and this has resulted in the screen folding almost completely flat (roughly 160°).

iPhone 3G ringer/silent switch broken [after 48 hours]

As an owner of the original iPhone, I patiently waited for the white iPhone 3G to be made available as an upgrade option from my network operator. 2 days ago I noticed my network operator (O2) had stock of the white iPhone 3G (44 days after its launch) so I headed to my local store and half an hour later I walked out with my new white iPhone 3G and tossed my original iPhone to one side [i.e. gave it to my girlfriend].

48 hours later and it’s already broken, the little ringer/vibrate switch has snapped and fallen off. I did notice the switch was much stiffer than my original iPhone, which I thought was a good thing as it would prevent mistaken switching of modes but unfortunately when I flicked it across the button popped off and landed on the street somewhere, never to be seen again.
