12 South SurfacePad for iPhone 5 [Review]

12 south surface pad-560-25In October last year I posted a review of the DODOCASE BOOKback for the iPhone 5 which was great until it started to fray slightly on one edge and then my OCD kicked in and I couldn’t take the frayed edges any longer so it was removed.

I spent a  few months looking at a whole range of  iPhone covers and cases to replace my beloved BOOKback but to be honest, nothing was jumping out at me until I came across a promo video for the SurfacePad from a company called TwelveSouth. Musemee Notier Stylus Review

A quick review of the Musemee Notier Stylus and some comparison photos to the Just Mobile AluPen stylus.

We’ve been a big fan of the comically oversized Just|Mobile Alupen and it serves its purpose well but recently we came across a new contender to the Best iPad Stylus award, the Musemee Notier, so we thought we’d put it through its paces.

Like all our other tablet accessories we review, we always ensure we use the actual items for several weeks before writing a review so you can rest assured that this is not just some marketing blurb we’re regurgitating here but it does mean the item won’t look pristine in the photos, so any marks and scratches you see are from using it in the real world for a fortnight, lets begin. KeyCase iPad 2 Folio Deluxe with Bluetooth Keyboard [Review]

I love my iPad more than any other piece of tech kit, but when I started using an iPad case with a built in bluetooth keyboard I learned to love it in a whole new way! Bluetooth keyboards are amazing.

gaI bought the first generation iPad on UK launch day way back in 28 May 2010 and since then have upgraded to the iPad 2, again on launch day and have the new iPad (aka iPad 3) pre-ordered for delivery this Friday 16th March. I love the iPad, it filled a gap between my iPhone and MacBook Air that I didn’t know was there. In a similar way, the KeyCase iPad 2 Folio Deluxe case with built in bluetooth keyboard fills a gap for an iPad case that I didn’t know was there. I’ve reviewed some amazing keyboards here, but this one is special, and here’s why. Check out the small hands gaming mice for those who have small hands and want to have better control when playing.

Whilst this review relates to my iPad 2 paired to a bluetooth keyboard case, the majority of the benefits I discuss in this article would equally apply to a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 case with built in bluetooth keyboard or a Kindle Fire case with built in keyboard (if such a thing exists).

I’ve never had a problem using the iPad or iPad 2 onscreen keyboard, it’s fast and responsive and the keys are a decent size (in landscape mode at least) but I would never dream of using the iPad on screen keyboard for anything other than quick email replies, form filling, brief note taking etc. For anything that needed more than 5 minutes of keyboard time I’d bring out the MacBook Air which is far easier to speed touch type on and get a lengthy email, proposal, blog post or report typed up.
