BUKcase Original for iPad Wooden Artisan Case [Review]

Background: A few months ago I took a gamble and bought an iPad mini to see if I liked it more than my retina iPad. I’ve always had the larger iPad (original, iPad 2 and retina iPad) but my gut was telling me I’d use the mini more due to it’s diminutive size. It was a bit of a trade off, losing the gorgeous retina display but gaining a smaller form factor but for me, the gamble paid off and I use my iPad mini much more than I was using my retina iPad. If I get chance I’ll write another post about my experience moving from an full size iPad to a mini iPad but I’ve gone off topic a little. I didn’t sell my iPad retina, instead I kept it as a dedicated device for client presentations (I’m also a Google Trusted Photographer selling Google Street View Tours). It was great having an iPad with the bare minimum of apps installed and not having to worry about emails and iMessages popping up when the client had my iPad in their hand but then the inevitable happened and a client dropped my iPad retina and the glass cracked. The hunt for the perfect case immediately began, a little too late since the screen was already cracked but that’s an easy fix and the fixed iPad would need a case.

Toma Fuji X100 X100S X100T X100F X100V X100VI Half Leather Case [Review]

I’ve always been a bit blinkered when it comes to digital cameras and never looked at anything other than Canon. I’ve got a lot of money invested in the Canon camera brand including S90, G10, 5D Mark ii, 5D Mark iii, 7D and a whole host of L-series lenses. Last year I came across a brand new Fuji X10 at a price I just couldn’t refuse and I was starting to get the ‘new camera’ itch so rather than the latest G-series Canon or the EOS-M for my travels I bought a Fuji X10 and fell in love with it, especially in it’s Toma half leather case. The X10 accompanied me on all my holidays and trips for the year and it was a welcome relief to leave the bulky SLRs and camera cases at home for a change. However, something was lacking, I loved the X10 but I kept finding myself thinking “I miss the bokeh from a bigger sensor” or “I wish I had my 5D3 with me right now” and I was also finding it a little slow to focus when jumping from an SLR to the X10 so this is where the X100S came in…

12 South SurfacePad for iPhone 5 [Review]

In October last year I posted a review of the DODOCASE BOOKback for the iPhone 5 which was great until it started to fray slightly on one edge and then my OCD kicked in and I couldn’t take the frayed edges any longer so it was removed.

I spent a  few months looking at a whole range of  iPhone covers and cases to replace my beloved BOOKback but to be honest, nothing was jumping out at me until I came across a promo video for the SurfacePad from a company called TwelveSouth. Kindle SD TabletWear Book Case [Review]

When I picked up the retina iPad I passed my old iPad 2 down to my Dad and he loves it…when he can get it off my Mum. Like almost all women across the globe, my Mum is addicted to reading the Fifty shades trilogy, more specifially she’s taken to reading eBooks rather than dead tree versions.

My Dad called me up and asked me to “sort the situation out so he can have his iPad back” so I strolled out and bought my Mum a basic Kindle (4th Gen). I toyed with the idea of getting a Kindle Touch, then realised she’d probably hate it, forget to turn it off and have it turn pages randomly in her bag so I opted for the entry level £89 one and spent the savings on a Kindle cover instead.
