Toma Fuji X100 X100S X100T X100F X100V X100VI Half Leather Case [Review]

I’ve always been a bit blinkered when it comes to digital cameras and never looked at anything other than Canon. I’ve got a lot of money invested in the Canon camera brand including S90, G10, 5D Mark ii, 5D Mark iii, 7D and a whole host of L-series lenses. Last year I came across a brand new Fuji X10 at a price I just couldn’t refuse and I was starting to get the ‘new camera’ itch so rather than the latest G-series Canon or the EOS-M for my travels I bought a Fuji X10 and fell in love with it, especially in it’s Toma half leather case. The X10 accompanied me on all my holidays and trips for the year and it was a welcome relief to leave the bulky SLRs and camera cases at home for a change. However, something was lacking, I loved the X10 but I kept finding myself thinking “I miss the bokeh from a bigger sensor” or “I wish I had my 5D3 with me right now” and I was also finding it a little slow to focus when jumping from an SLR to the X10 so this is where the X100S came in…

12 South SurfacePad for iPhone 5 [Review]

In October last year I posted a review of the DODOCASE BOOKback for the iPhone 5 which was great until it started to fray slightly on one edge and then my OCD kicked in and I couldn’t take the frayed edges any longer so it was removed.

I spent a  few months looking at a whole range of  iPhone covers and cases to replace my beloved BOOKback but to be honest, nothing was jumping out at me until I came across a promo video for the SurfacePad from a company called TwelveSouth. Toma leather wrist strap on Fuji X10 [Review]

When I’m leaving the house to take the dog for a walk or heading off somewhere exotic on holiday, my Fuji X10 is now my number one “got to take” camera. Unless it’s a work related trip in which case the Canon 5DMk3, 5DMk2 and other goodies come out but for my day-to-day personal photos I can’t fault the Fuji X10. OK that’s a lie, the X10 has had some issues (orbs and sensor replacement & dust in the lens) and there’s also been one minor thing that has always bugged me and that’s the neck strap supplied with the X10. SD TabletWear Advanced Motorola XOOM Case [Review]

Having used a naked Xoom for a couple weeks I hastily purchased an official Folio case, which has been doing it’s job, just. After a couple weeks of use the Folio case is providing excellent protection when travelling, but it’s nothing less than awkward when trying to use the Xoom with it fitted! A desk-stand it is not! Having looked at various options for a replacement Xoom case I decided the SD TabletWear case was perfect. A faux leather (this case is only £20 remember) outer skin with soft innards and a decent mechanism for using the case as a desk stand, it ticked all the boxes.

My concern around the case being too flimsy were quickly dispelled as the case is reinforced with some pretty stiff material inside. It’s not as protective as the hard plastic of the official Folio case but it’s not as ugly either! Book-style cases suit tablets really well and the solid magnetic fastener on this one keeps the case firmly together whenever required.
